Coffee Table with Terra Cotta Garrigue and Brown Tiles by Roger Capron, 1970’s
Coffee table with the famous Roger Capron Garrigue tiles, designed from 1968 to 1982.
Mr. Capron was often balancing his designs by incorporating either brown or white enameled terra cotta tiles. This table is mounted on a ingenius system of wooden legs. The ceramic top lays on 2 crossbars supported by 2 pairs of legs raising on the side of the table and flush with the ceramic top. The table seems to be floating between the legs.
We had the legs refinished by a professinal wood worker who managed to keep the natural patina. Stamped “Capron, Vallauris, France”
